A summary: I got into this line of work because I believe that design is to the written word what body language is to the spoken. I get my jimmies from communicating the personality and vitality of a brand through color, line, and text.
You might have noticed that my work tends to be a little bit theatrical, and that's not an accident– I generally tend to take on clients whose focus is the arts and humanities. A quote (mis)attributed to Winston Churchill has him refusing to cut arts funding in Britain during World War II on the grounds that, in the absence of art, "what are we fighting for?" And I feel that.
In my scant hours spent not working with the Adobe Creative Suite, I can be found experimenting in the kitchen, trying to figure out how I have so many tabs open on my internet browser, and taking cat-naps. For me, the dialogue between form and function aren't abstracts, they're a standard by which you can measure everything from gardens to granola bars.
